Welcome to my creative portfolio. Here you’ll find a few examples of my work, which include stories about my favourite travel experiences both in SA and abroad, as well as in-depth investigative articles about various conservation crises in Southern Africa.
A travel and conservation journalist for most parts, I’m also a passionate South African cook and food writer, hailing from a generational line of the best home cooks the world has ever known*. In 2017, my mom and I also participated in the reality cooking show My Kitchen Rules South Africa, where we placed third overall.
If you like learning about South African food and farming, and enjoy exploring new tastes of the world, I can already tell we’ll be good friends.
Originally from a farm in the Karoo Midlands of the Eastern Cape, I’ve temporarily swapped serene, small-town living for the city lights of Port Elizabeth where I live with my husband, Louis, our haughty Scottish Terrier Benjamin and a 16-year-old adopted ginger cat, Felix.
Please feel free to snoop around and don’t hesitate to contact me for any other information, more work examples or if you’d like to grab a coffee in Stanley Street.
